Chris Krause conducts an interview of Sharon O’Malley, library patron and former library page, in four parts:
- Origins and character
- Literacy, education and role of public libraries in upbringing
- Experiences as a library page
- Reflections on information retrieval
Questions explore the changing perception of libraries and of more traditional forms of information retrieval through a biographical lens. Findings are in some ways typical and in some ways illuminating: the narrator weaves an insightful portrait of the contemporary public library and the social dimensions surrounding patrons.
